2 brothers killed early Tuesday Morning in West Pullman

Two family members, brothers Leandre Cooper, 38, and Demetrius Cooper 35, were both shot to death early Tuesday in the 100-block of East 120th street. Shots were fired approximately at 3:40am. The area in which they were shot is known for gang violence, but relatives and friends of both men describe them as family men. “They’re good guys. They visit their mother all the time over here. It’s just ridiculous. It just don’t make no sense. It just needs to stop” says their cousin Karlese Henderson. There may have also been a third person targeted, who was with the brothers early Tuesday. Around 6:30am the crime scene got violent when a group of men approached the family members gathered around. They started screaming at each other. Henderson said the family had just lost another loved one six months ago, the family is devastated.
